The Cogmans, 18 days to go…
Cogmans 2025 with strong fields and big support, we’re set for a big year!
With just 18 days to go, The Cogmans Trail Run will take place on saturday the 19th of July in the quaint and beutiful town of Montagu, in the Western Cape. The Cogmans, in it’s third year, is shaping up to be a standout event. Hosted by No Frills. No Fuss, this one‑day trail running challenge is held on Montagu’s rugged, single‑track network—ascending the iconic peaks surrounding the town - such as Aasvoëlkrans, Cogmans, and the imposing Bloupunt (1 266 m)
Athletes can choose from four distances—50 km (2 600 m vert), 34 km (2 005 m), 17 km (1 000 m), and 10 km (465 m)—making it accessible to emerging runners while demanding for seasoned athletes. The races are drawing an exceptionally strong and deep field of local runners as the race goes from strength to strength, whilst keeping the core reason why we run at front of mind - to run WILD and FREE!!!
Add to that the weekend’s vibe: a relaxed Friday Burger Night & registration with warming Karoo hospitality (beer, burgers, and conversation), followed by the race start from NG Kerk Montagu, and an afternoon filled with beer, wine and prize-giving.
The course is technical and remote—expect steep climbs, slippery rock, and minimal rescue coverage—so strong field or not, self‑reliance is key.
