The AR Mini-Series is BACK!

The Spring AR Mini‑Series brings New Venues and a Grand Finalé Like Never Before!

Launched as a way to bring the sport of adventure racing to a wider audience, the AR Mini‑Series has become a gateway for first-timers, families, and seasoned racers alike to experience the thrill of navigation-based multi-sport events without the pressure of ultra distances. This year’s spring edition takes it a step further—offering fresh terrain, new challenges, and a celebratory final race hosted in conjunction with NFNF’s flagship event - The NFNF Original.

The series kicks off on Heritage Day, 24 September, at Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch—where vineyards meet rugged slopes and a rich sense of history frames the route. Then it moves inland to Kalmoesfontein in Malmesbury on 8 November, offering expansive views, rolling wheatfields, and hidden technical gems that will add a little spice.

On 6 December, the Grand Finalé will be hosted at Fish Eagle River Camp in Swellendamfor the first time ever as part of the NFNF Original Race Weekend. This makes for an exciting weekend as racers can expect a slightly longer course (35 km), a festive race village atmosphere, and a proper send-off to wrap up the year.

Each race blends mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, and potentially paddling into a compact course designed to be completed in 2 to 6 hours. You’ll follow a map, make route choices on the fly, and rely on your teammate (or your grit) to reach the finish line—where coffee, camaraderie, and NFNF vibes await.

Entries are now open. Teams of two are encouraged (and frankly, more fun), but solo entries are also welcome. Series entry includes all three races.

Whether you're brand new to adventure racing or looking to sharpen your skills for the longer formats, the Spring Series is the perfect place to start—or start again.

Come run, ride, paddle, and navigate your way through spring.

Three races, three new maps.
